When my kids were younger, it was easy to pick out their gifts for Christmas. One year, we got them a Wii game system. One game system for the four of them. I remember them whooping and hollering in the living room, anxious to get it up and running. These days, we wouldn’t dare to give them one gift to share. They have all developed into completely different individuals with their own interests and their own gift ideas.
A few weeks ago I did ask them to give me some ideas of things they would like under the tree and I wanted to share them with you. I put their ideas in the graphic below with links below it. They’re not groundbreaking, but they are things that my boys said they would like. And I’d rather give them something I know they’ll use and be happy with. I hope that these ideas may be able to help you as you think about gifts for your loved ones. For reference, my sons range in age from 14 to 17 years old.
Let me say right up front that this guide is geared toward boys; I have four sons and have been living in their world for the last 18 years. They are what I know. However, you can probably tweak a few of these for your daughters, nieces, friends, etc.
I am planning a few other gift idea roundups in the coming weeks. If there’s anything in particular you’d like to see, please let me know.
I’ve also rounded up a list of sales from some of my favorite retailers. These are the stores and websites that I go to for my family’s things as well as my own. I’ll try to keep this list updated so that you can check back for the latest.
Although I’ll be shopping these stores, I’m also going to shop at my local small businesses because I know I’ll find unique gifts there. This Saturday, November 25, is Small Business Saturday, so it’s a perfect opportunity for you to check out your local small businesses and show them some love!
Gift Ideas for Teen Boys
1. Hoodie – Perfect layering piece and easy to put on and take off during school. 2. Cell Phone Charger – A cure for dying cell phones. 3. Duffel Bag – Can’t have enough of these for sports or the gym. 4. Swell Bottle – Easy to carry in a backpack and keeps water cool all day. 5. Shaker Bottle – Makes smoothies or nutrition shakes in seconds. 6. Earbuds – Cause they lose them again and again and again. 7. Drawstring Bag – Carries all the essentials and looks cool. 8. Beanie – Keeps their heads warm. And guys have bad hair days too. 9. Pajama Bottoms – Comfortable for sleeping and for lounging around the house. My boys are good at both.
These are just a few gift ideas. I have two sons who love to read so I’ll be looking for book gifts. They all like to play video games as well so a few of those will be on my list. I hope the list above is helpful in getting you started on your own shopping!
