When I think of comfort pants, I think of joggers or yoga pants. I love their stretchy and unrestricted style. Problem is, I don’t feel comfortable wearing them out of the house. They are a little too casual for me to take beyond my driveway. For me, these pants serve a pretty specific purpose: to work out or to lounge around at home.
But Gopantsla is quickly changing how I feel about comfort pants. I received a pair of these pants as a prize for winning the Thrifted Chick Style Challenge in November. Gopantsla did not ask me to write a post about the pants nor are they paying me to write a post. But I would not show you a piece or recommend it if I didn’t like it and wouldn’t wear it myself.
I knew these pants were different from other comfort pants because of how they feel and look. They are loose-fitting, made of thin, stretchy material, and have a waistband that can be raised or lowered to your liking. With several different patterns from which to choose, they are also stylish to boot!
Gopantsla was created by two moms who wanted pants that were comfortable like yoga pants, but in a more stylish and flattering fit. They said they couldn’t find what they were looking for, so they created them! The pants are machine washable and wrinkle resistant. They also come with a cute storage pouch.
I chose the Michelle style, which has a flared bottom and lower rise (although you can adjust the waistband so that it’s a higher rise). Gopantsla also has the Julie style, which has a straighter leg and a higher rise. The design I selected is called the Sapphire Dazzle and it has a mix of cobalt blue, cream, black and white colors.
These pants are so comfortable and are perfect for lounging with a book, watching a movie, or catching up on your favorite television show. But the colorful design and style also makes them dressier than your usual comfort pants. Today, I’m showing you two ways to wear these pants, both in and out of the house.
Comfort Pants For Home
When I tried these pants on, the first top that came to mind was a big slouchy sweater. This chunky knit wool-blend sweater from H&M is roomy and warm. With its v-neck and dropped shoulders, it’s also comfortable, making it a perfect companion to the pants.
I paired it with a long pendant necklace to break up the expanse of white in the top. My black sock booties provide added warmth when I need to head out of the house. I’m also featuring a couple of recent thrifted finds. The first is a Bakelite bangle that I found at Deep Creek Vintage (you can see my other Bakelite bangle here). The second is this cool leather handbag that I picked up at Sequels, a boutique I just discovered that sells pre-loved high-end women’s clothing.
Comfort Pants for the Office
The outfit above is obviously more casual and perfect for home. But I think it’s also dressy enough to run errands or visit with friends. This next look is something you can take to work or wear for a dressier occasion.
My jacket from New York and Company has been a staple in my closet for more than 10 years and it’s one of my favorite pieces. I love its military vibe, its short style and comfortable material. I’ve worn it with everything from jeans to dresses to skirts.
The front of the jacket is closed to show off the button details, but it can certainly be worn open with a black, white or beige top. I’m not wearing a necklace because I think the buttons on the front of the jacket help to break up the black. I kept the rest of my accessories simple with silver hoop hearings and a silver wrap bracelet.
I kept my black sock booties on although a nice pair of heels would also look great with this outfit. To go along with the work vibe, I am carrying my quilted bag from Target. This is definitely a different work-wear look, but one that is fun and comfortable. It also gives a little boho vibe with the flared style and design on the pants.
I think I made out pretty good with these pants! As you can see, they are versatile for both a casual and a work outfit. But I’m also looking forward to wearing them in the spring and summer with strappy sandals and a flowy top.
If you’re constantly on the go and want to be comfortable and stylish at the same time, check out gopantsla. They have a variety of designs and sizes. I think you’ll like what you see.
