I woke up early Saturday morning to learn that I had won the Thrifted Chic Style Challenge from last week! Excited can’t even begin to describe how I felt. This was my first-ever contest for a style challenge and my first win.
Here’s what I saw on my Instagram. I was shocked!
Thrifted Chic Power
I am so thankful to the hosts, whom I’ll list below and I hope that you visit, as well as the sponsor, www.gopantsla.com, for this challenge. I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll say it again. One of the most surprising things to me since starting this blog is the global network of women who are out there fearlessly sharing their styles and experiences. They come in all shapes and sizes and range from the young to the more mature. I love seeing their different styles and reading their stories.
You can find all of these lovely ladies on Instagram. I’ve also linked to their blogs if they have one.
@seechele_style. You can find Michele on Instagram and see her cute thrifted outfits. She and Jodie from jtouchofstyle invited me to participate in the Thrifted Chic Style Challenge. I’m so glad I did!
@fashionablyfifty. I love Susan’s description on Instagram: “Rescuing clothing and accessories from landfills one glorious piece at a time.” She’s a woman after my own heart.
@frugalandfabulous_houston. Check out her Instagram account for great “flat lays” of outfits that she puts together. True to her name, they are frugal and fabulous!
jtouchofstyle. You’ll see Jodie’s comments on my blog; she is truly one of the most supportive and positive bloggers I know. Her own blog is a fun and family-filled look at styles for women over 50. I love her!
@pixieandcurls. Meg takes some great selfies of her outfits. I need to get some lessons from her because I’m still trying to figure that out!
@thebrowncloset. Shonte has a beautiful smile and some really cool pics! Like me, she is a thredUP fan!
My prize for winning the contest was a pair of pants from www.gopantsla.com, a Los-Angeles based company that makes comfortable and beautiful pants for women. I do not own a pair of these yet, but I’m looking forward to trying these pants out. I’ll share pics with you when I get them!
I thought I would do a quick recap of last week’s looks for you. Just click on each image to read the original post and all the outfit details.
This is probably one of my favorite work outfits. It’s chic, comfortable and fun with the striped tank and the scarf.
My Thrifted Piece(s): Red Blazer, Scarf
This poncho is one of the most comfortable and cozy pieces I own. We shot this on a breezy day and the poncho and my fisherman’s cap kept me pretty warm.
My Thrifted Piece: Black Backpack.
I fell in love with this skirt as soon as I saw it. Same goes for the gray box clutch.
My Thrifted Piece(s): Floral Skirt, Box Clutch
I still can’t believe I paid only $10 for this coat! And it’s 100% wool! And it’s cute! Did I tell you I only paid $10?
My Thrifted Piece: Red Coat
This outfit is just plain fun to me. I love everything about it from my head to my toes. No really, I love the hat, my poncho and the cool boots!
My Thrifted Pieces: Boots, Necklace, Bracelet
I hope my outfits and tips are helpful to you. Looking good and having fun with your style doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Plus, you never know what unique treasures you will find. The thrifted style challenge is over for now, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped thrifting! Later this week, I’ll show you some new-to-me treasures that I found at my favorite local vintage shop. Please stay tuned!
Please note that I receive a small commission if you click and/or purchase items through my affiliate links. I am also an independent Stylist for Plunder Design jewelry and receive a commission when you purchase jewelry through my links.
